{"id":4719,"date":"2019-10-11T10:52:49","date_gmt":"2019-10-11T01:52:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www2.igs.ocha.ac.jp\/en\/?p=4719"},"modified":"2025-10-23T14:23:24","modified_gmt":"2025-10-23T05:23:24","slug":"obituary-hiroko-hara","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www2.igs.ocha.ac.jp\/en\/news\/obituary-hiroko-hara\/","title":{"rendered":"Obituary: Hiroko HARA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"a\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our former director of the Institute for Gender Studies, Hiroko Hara (Emeritus Professor of Ochanomizu University), on October 7, 2019, at the age of 85 years.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"a\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Professor Hara\u2019s association with Ochanomizu University began in 1979 when she obtained a teaching position in the Home Economics Department. Since then, she performed a key role in the Archive of Women\u2019s Studies, the Institute for Women\u2019s Studies and the Institute for Gender Studies. Her contributions to the fields of Women\u2019s Studies and Gender Studies extended far beyond IGS and Ochanomizu University.
