Jean Encinas-Franco, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor at the Department of Political Science, University of the Philippines, Diliman. She worked for 15 years in the Senate of the Philippines where she was Director at the Senate Economic Planning Office. Her work on the politics of migration and gender has been published in various local and international journals. She recently received an Honourable Mention award in the category of the Feminist from the Global South Award from the International Studies Association (ISA) for her policy and academic work.

Jan Robert R Go is an assistant professor of political theory at the University of the Philippines. He received his PhD in political theory from Central China Normal University in Wuhan, China. His research has focused on local politics and decentralisation, grassroots politics in urban communities, and politics of participation in the Philippines and China. He sits in the board of directors of the Philippine Association for Chinese Studies (PACS). He is also the managing editor of Philippine Political Science Journal (PPSJ).
